The inspiration for this table comes from a desire to recreate the magic of eating outdoors under a tree canopy. This single slab of nanciton was sustainably-harvested from South America and obtained from a local supplier. The tree planter is suspended from the underside of the table and effectively floats via leather straps. The tree can be removed/exchanged. The steel components are designed in house and manufactured in the Toronto area. The table top was designed and created in the Toronto studio.
Dimensions: Length 120" x Width 34-37" x Thickness 1 3/4" x Height 28.5", with 3" adjustable levellers (note: 3" represents the foot diameter in contact with the floor.) Levellers can be raised another inch for table height personal preference or floor surface irregularities.
Legs: Steel and modular, these are bolted onto laser-cut steel plates which are secured to the underside of the tabletop. The legs are easily removed and reattached without compromising the structure. Furthermore the legs can be rotated / adjusted every 45 degrees according to visual preference. The legs are electroplated in trivalent zinc.
Finish: The table is finished to a silky smooth touch both on the top and also on the underside. A food-safe hardening oil finish brings out the beauty of the grain and protects the wood from spills/stains. It is easily repairable in the event of damage.
